Carolyn lost her battle to Lupus in 2001 Carolyn was my sister. We watched what affects this debilitating disease can have on the body. We must join together, spread the word and help find a cure.

What is Lupus?

Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that can affect various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood, and kidneys.

Advocacy & Legislation

The LFA Government Relations team is responsible for federal, state, and international legislation and issues that affect people with lupus. We work with Members of Congress at the federal level, and at the state level to raise awareness and advocate for research funding.

There is no cure for lupus and no new drugs have been developed to treat lupus in more than 50 years! We will continue working with Congress and federal and state agencies to improve the lives of the more than 1.5 million

Youth Empowerment Program

Changing the world for teenagers happens to one student at a time. Students do not connect to programs, they connect to people. The most effective way to influence students is through significant relationships by key people in their lives.

Our goal is to develop leaders who will be mentors to students. Our youth group needs leaders who will:

· Love God and let Him live through them

· Be interested in their lives

· Take initiative to spend time with them

· Pray for them

· Be real

· Say encouraging words

· Believe in them

· Laugh

· Go to “their world”

· Remember their names and care for them

· Share God’s love through personal experience
